Race to the Top

March Summary 2011

On March 1st Kelly Spivey and Holli Morrish attended a Race to the Top (RttT) seminar at the Miami University Hamilton Campus. The focus of the meeting was to communicate key dates, the purpose behind regional meetings, the STARS registration process, the upcoming worksession for the Scope of Work revisions, and expectations for local projects and communications relative to RttT. On March 7th future meetings will be available on ODE/STARS registration.

On March 10th Jeff Winslow attended the RttT Innovations seminar to gather more information about STEM, Technology, and Asian Society projects and funding.

On March 14th Kelly Spivey, Holli Morrish, jean Eagle, and Jeff Winslow attended a webinar to gather information about the new teacher evaluation tool. The district was asked to complete a survey indicating the status of Talawanda’s transition to the new standards. Jean Eagle completed the survey tool on March 16th.

During the month of April Holli Morrish will complete revisions to the RttT Scope of Work document.

On May 3rd Holli Morrish and Phil Cagwin will attend a worksession to guide the Scope of Work revision process. The DLT/RttT Transformation team will meet on April 16th so that subcommittee’s can report out on their goals.

On May 11th there is a RttT seminar schedule with a location TBD.

June 3rd- Scope of Work is due to ODE.

June 6th there will be a RttT summary meeting for spring 2011.

On August 1st each RttT sub-committee will receive new tasks.
