Talawanda Schools will be implementing a new phone notification system this winter. It will enable the district to call student's home. This system will be used to announce school closings, delays, and early dismissals due to the weather or school emergency.
We will continue to send email alerts via E-News for any closings, delays, and early dismissals.

From Dr. Phil Cagwin, Superintendent. I am asked at times by community members, "What is Talawanda doing with my tax dollars?". I have created this handout to help explain this question. Please review the handout and if you have further questions, please contact me at 273-3102 or Mike Davis, Treasurer at 273-3107.

Annual Braves Bash
On November 15th we will have our annual Braves Bash at the Shirver Center at Miami Univerisyt from 7pm until Midnight. If you have never attended one of these in years past do so this year. It’s an evening filled with a great deal of fun and excitement.
• Music
• Dancing
• Auctions
• Games of Chance
& A Spectacular Appetizer Buffet
It all rounds out to be an event you just shouldn’t miss. The auction items alone are worth the price of admission. Each item has traditionally gone for very reasonable prices if not down right steals. What a heck of a way to start your Holiday shopping.
In consideration of the national financial events that we read and hear about everyday in the news the Booster members, coaches & team liaisons took a vote at the September monthly meeting and lowered the cost of this years Braves Bash tickets. Each ticket allows the bearer and a guest admission to the Braves Bash for just $25.00, a price that is too enticing to pass up. All Talawanda Athletic Booster members will receive $5.00 vouchers that can be used anywhere that evening. We’re hoping to fill a table from each JV and Varsity sport venue here at Talawanda in addition to the other groups of Talawanda fans and supporters who want to attend.
FOR TICKETS, contact your athletes coach, team liaison or the athletic office. Send in a check for the $25.oo price and we’ll hold the tickets for you at the door
Additionally, we will be drawing the winning ticket for the Braves Bash GRAND PRIZE raffle. This years prize is a 32” Sony Bravia LCD HDTV with a Samsung Home Theater Surround Sound System w/ a 5 Disk DVD player, digital tuner & IPod dock.
The tickets for this raffle are $5.00 each or 5 tickets for $20.00.

It’s that time again! The 2008 Talawanda Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet & Induction Ceremony is coming soon! Thursday, October 9th, we’ll be inducting 7 new individuals. Like previous inductees, these individuals have distinguished themselves by their careers as players or coaches as worthy of Hall of Fame recognition. They include:

Robert Fryman (1946 McGuffey football, basketball, track, baseball)
Joe Loomis (1970-75 Talawanda track & cross country coach)
Linda Melis Wakeland (1976 Talawanda track & field, swimming)
Quinn Killy (1988 THS soccer, THS/TMS soccer coach)
Jonathon Stigall (1994 THS football)
Cindy Tomblinson Wynn (1969 THS volleyball, basketball, field hockey & track)
The banquet will be held in Shriver Center on the campus of Miami University starting with cocktails at 5:30 PM. I hope you will once again consider joining us for another unforgettable evening celebrating Talawanda athletic excellence. Please RSVP to the THS Athletic Office (513)273-3205 to let us know if you’re coming, and to order tickets. You can mail in your payment for your tickets, or just take care of the cost at the door the night of the event.
In the event you are unable to attend, you might consider a donation to help cover the costs of the event. You can also show your support in the form of inductee sponsor($60), table sponsor ($175*), or event sponsor($600*) as interested.
(* these sponsorships include 2 & 6 tickets respectively)
We look forward to seeing you on the 9th, or join us on Friday for the halftime recognition at the THS vs. Edgewood football game that night.
